SILAN, JANICE REYES " Study on Employment and Income Analysis of CEMDS Graduates in Cavite State University, 1989-1998", B.S. Economics Major in Development Economics, cavite State University Indang, Cavite, March 2000. Adviser: Ms. Normida Malabanan. <br/>The study entitled: " Employment and Income Analysis of CEMDS Graduates in Cavite State University"; was conducted to describe the socio-economic characteristics of CEMDS graduates; ascertain the relationship between employment and income of CEMDS graduates; determine the income level of CEMDS graduates; and to determine the major problems encountered by the CEMDS graduates with regards to their employment. <br/>Questionnaires and interview were used in gathering the needed information in this study.<br/> Data were analyzed using descriptive method, chi-square and correlation analysis. The 5 percent level of significance was used to test the hypothesis. <br/>Based on the analysis, majority of the respondents were female with 55 percent. Out of the total respondents, the age with large percentage falls in the range of 27 to 29 with 32 percent. Of the total number of respondents, 55 percent were married. At the time of the interview, 66 percent of the respondents were already eligible. <br/>Considering the present economic condition, the graduates had relatively low income. Indeed, they considered their income adequate to meet family needs.<br/>The chi-square test showed that there was no significant relationship between age, CaIQ status and to type of employment of the respondents. It also shows that there was no significant relationship between income and civil service eligibility of the respondents. On the other hand, there is significant relationship between income, sex, and type of employment. It also explained that there is significant relationship between age, sex, civil status, nature of job and income.<br/> Almost all respondents have been planning to attend various trainings/seminars and short courses as well as pursue higher studies.<br/> Far from home, low salary and co- workers that are hard to deal with were some major problems encountered. <br/>The institution should find ways by which it can help graduates, particularly in looking for jobs and in their aim to grow professionally. The government should also try to help the graduates by providing better employment opportunities and higher income.<br/> |
