Bachelor of Science in Development Management. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. August 2022. Adviser: Ms. Richelle Joy P. Baon.
The study was conducted to determine the readiness, perception, and attitude of the College of Arts and Sciences students of Cavite State University in e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, it aims to determine the demographic characteristics of the students in terms of age, place of residence, sex, civil status, year level, course, level of readiness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, advantages, disadvantages, and problems encountered in e-learning in the College of Arts and Sciences at Cavite State University-Main Campus Indang Cavite. Descriptive research was used in the study. Survey questionnaires were provided to the students through online platforms to gather pertinent data. The college had seven courses, a population of 3,165 students and a sample of 418 students was selected as the participant in the study. Participants were grouped according to their courses. Most of the participants' age range was from 17 to 20 years (43%) and most of them lived in the province of Cavite (21 %). There were more female (74%) participants than male (26%). Most were single students (99%). Respondents were mostly in their third year (30%) and their majority were BS Psychology students (30%).
In general, College of Arts and Sciences students has a "high level" of readiness for e-learning, perceived usefulness of e-learning as "very useful", perceived ease of use of e-learning as "easy to use” and had a "negative attitude" towards the use of e-learning.
The most frequently mentioned advantage was "access to online materials", while the most mentioned disadvantage was "technical problems", and the most mentioned problem was "technical issues". Therefore, it is recommended that the local government unit fund projects that will assist students in this new mode of learning,
such as providing a stable internet connection in their place of residence. It is also recommended that students make an effort to be able to have access to gadgets and equipment that will be used for e-learning. As technology has been improving over the years, it will help students today to continue their studies. Students should focus primarily on how technology can help improve the efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness of learning. Furthermore, the students should plan for their own self-development and practice self-discipline to ensure that they will be able to accomplish their tasks to achieve their learning goals as well as discuss and coordinate with the university the proper usage of the learning management systems that will be used for their e-learning.
