CANDELA, RENITA, SALLES. Evaluation of Training Programs on Cassava and Coconut Processing in Cavite conducted by ATI-RTC IV from February 1999 to February 2001. B.S. Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Development Management major in Training Program Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2002. Adviser: Ms. Adora Joy M. Tropia. <br/>This study was conducted to enumerate the knowledge and skills gained by the training participants, determine the respondents' level of adoption, and identify the results of adopting such practices. This was undertaken in seven selected areas of Cavite namely: Alfonso; Amadeo; Bacoor; Dasmarinas; General Mariano Alvarez; Indang; and Silang. <br/>A total of 100 respondents were interviewed using the structured interview schedule. Data were analyzed using ranges, percentages, ranks, means, and standard deviation. Student's t-test was used to determine the significant difference between the respondents' income before and after the implementation of the program. <br/>Majority of the respondents were female (95%) and married (81%) with the mean age of 44 years old. Majority of the married respondents (81%) have children ranging from one to three. Almost all of the respondents had formal schooling. However, majority (51%) reached or finished secondary education. <br/>Forty-nine percent of the respondents mainly depended on farming/agriculture as their primary source of income. <br/>The results of student's t-test showed that there was a significant difference in the income of the respondents before and after the implementation of the program. However, the increase in income after the implementation of the program may not be attributed to the program alone, because there were other factors to be considered. |
