Summary, etc. ALBA, RICA MAE S., CASTILLO, ALDRIN M., CHAVEZ, KC ANNE M. INFLUENCE OF CHILDBIRTH EXPERIENCE ON SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING OF POSTPARTUM WOMEN DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN RURAL CAVITE. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2023. Adviser: Sunny Rose M. Fererra, RN, MAN Co-Adviser: Evelyn M. Del Mundo, RN, MAN, LPT, PhD.

The study was conducted from June 2021 to June 2022 with the purpose of to determine if childbirth experience was related to the subjective well-being of postpartum women living in rural Cavite. The study specific objectives were to
characterize the socio-demographic characteristics of postpartum women in terms of their age, civil status, monthly family income, educational attainment, religion, the number of births, and type of health facility where they gave birth. Additionally, it aimed to quantify the degree of subjective well-being in terms of life satisfaction, positive affect, and negative affect, as well as the degree of childbirth experience in terms of the five domains: self, emotional, support system, healthcare delivery system, and health protocols in the labor and delivery. Furthermore, in identifying the relationship between postpartum women's subjective well-being and their childbirth experiences in selected rural Cavite areas during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Descriptive correlational research design was used. The researchers used convenience sampling to choose 99 postpartum women who gave birth during the COVID-19 pandemic as the study's respondents. These respondents were residents of the top 3 live birth rural municipalities in the Province of Cavite, specifically Tanza, Silang, and General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), they had given birth between September 2021 and February 2022, and willing to participate in the study.
The majority of respondents were between the ages of 20 and 35, and the majority of them were categorized as singles under civil law. Additionally, the majority of postpartum women who responded have monthly household incomes of less than PI 0,481 and their greatest level of education was secondary education. They are also Roman Catholics. In terms of the respondents' birth experiences, the majority of them had just one delivery, and most of them gave birth in a lying-in clinic. Moreover, the results suggested that postpartum women in a particular rural Cavite area had a high level childbirth experience and a moderate level of subjective well-being, and that there was a significant positive correlation between the two variables.
Furthermore, the researchers recommend having a face-to-face data collection, include mothers who underwent home birth, as well as to investigate the relationship of the following factors to subjective well-being of postpartum women: women who are primiparous or multiparous, if they are at high-risk or have comorbidities, and those who undergone Caesarean section or Normal Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery as means of childbirth, for more generalized results.
Keywords: subjective well-being, childbirth experience, life satisfaction, positive affect, negative affect, self-domain, emotional, support system, healthcare delivery system, health protocols in the labor and delivery
