The researchers used a purposive sampling design to one hundred thirty-eight respondents based on the preconceived qualifications. A Cross-sectional self-administered survey that was adapted and modified from the Report of the Sage Working Group on Vaccine (2014) was validated by a physician, a professional nurse, one psychologist, one clinical
instructor, and a Filipino Critic and was used to determine the vaccine hesitancy and level of resistance to COVID-19 vaccines among parents of children aged 5-11 years old in barangay Calumpang Cerca at Indang Cavite. The questionnaire was divided into three parts; the first part was consisting of the socio-demographic profile of the participants, the second part included the assessment of vaccine hesitancy to COVID 19 vaccines among parents of children aged 5-11 years old and the third part was consists of the assessment of level of resistance among parents of children aged 5-11 years old.
The Vaccine Hesitancy Assessment result shows the overall median score of three (X¯ =3) indicating that the parents were hesitant to vaccinate their children with COVID-19 vaccines.
The Level of Resistance Assessment shows the overall median score of three (X¯ =3) indicating that parents of children are resistant to have their children vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines due to contextual influences (X¯ =3) as the parents strongly disagreed (X¯ =1) with getting their children vaccinated upon reading and hearing negative information about COVID-19 vaccines However the parents agreed (X¯ ) that the leaders in their community support COVID-19 vaccines for children. Moreover, it was found that the parents disagreed (X¯ =2) with the choices of vaccines provided by the Brgy.
