Summary, etc. LUBATON, KIMBERHLY A., LUMEN, FE PAOLA A. and REYES, FRANCIS KEVIN A. Postpartum Management among Multigravida Mothers in Four Selected Barangays of Naic, Cavite. Undergraduate Research Problem, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 2010. Adviser: Evelyn del Mundo.

This study was conducted to determine the postpartum management among multigravida mothers in four selected barangays of Naic, Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to describe the demographic profile of the multigravida mothers; identify the preference of birth attendant; determine the level of interest and compliance to postpartum management of multigravida mothers; and identify the relationship between the level of compliance to postpartum management and the demographic profile, preference to birth attendant, and level of interest to postpartum management. The Study was conducted from October 2009 to November 2009.

The study used the descriptive method. The respondents of the study were composed of 100 multigravida mothers from four barangays. They were requested to answer a self-made questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentages, percent distribution; weighted mean and Pearson product moment correlation.

Results revealed that majority of the respondents were 22-25 years old, married, Catholics, had finished high school, unemployed, with monthly income of P5,001- P10,000 and with three pregnancies and children. Majority of the respondents chose the rural health midwives as birth attendants for their postpartum management. Results also showed that most of them are very interested in postpartum management. The level of interest to postpartum management activities was rated as moderate. The level of compliance to postpartum management for the child was very high, while the level of compliance to postpartum management for the mother was high.

The level of interest to postpartum management affects the level of compliance to postpartum management. The results further showed the level of compliance to postpartum management for the child was highly affected by the level of interest in postpartum management.
