A research on "The Performance of Broilers Fed with Chick Booster Feeds" was conducted to determine the effect of chick booster feeds on the growth of broiler for a period of eight weeks. The study was conducted at the Poultry Project of the Department of Animal Science, in Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite. <br/>One hundred Cobb broiler chicks of one day old were divided into two treatments of fifty birds each. The first fifty were used as the experimental treatment and the other half was used as the control. Birds in the experimental treatment were fed with chick booster for the first one week which later on was shifted to regular broiler mash feeding. The control treatment was provided with the regular feeds throughout the experiment. Results showed that the average final weight was heavier in treatment II with 1,577.16 grams than in treatment I with 1,566.705 grams. The average amount of feed to produce a kilogram gain was 2.91 kgs. For experimental treatment and 3.14 for control treatment. The cost to produce a kilogram gain was lower in treatment II with me 8.65 per kilogram than treatment with X8099 per kilogram.<br/> There were four percent mortality for control and twelve percent for experimental lot. The net labor income based at 010.50 per kilogram live weight was 01.85 for experimental and 01.51 for control birds; Findings showed that chick booster feeds tended to stimulate growth thus, giving higher live weight of the birds. Feeding chick booster feeds for one week period also provides a higher marginal profit.<br/> |
