Summary, etc. Marges, Corazon P. "Factors Associated with the Adoption of Home Management Practices in AEOP Outreach Barrios". B.S. Thesis, Agricultural Economics, DSAC, Indang, Cavite. March, 1981.
The study was conducted to know the factors associated with home management practices in the DSAC AEOP Outreach Barrios. The survey was done in Bancod, Buna Lejos, Kaytambog, Limbon, Cabuco and Lumipa. A total of 120 home-makers were the respondents for this study. They were selected by means of simple random sampling.
The study revealed that homemakers were mostly house-keepers and only few were employed. The average number of children they supported was four. Most of the homemakers reached the intermediate level of education. The available reading materials in their homes were comics, newspapers and magazines. Only 15 percent of the homemakers had more than 11 kinds of equipment present in the house while the rest owned six to ten or five and below. The available facilities were lighting, water recreation and toilet. Electricity and lamp were the main and artesian wells were recreation and toilet of lighting while the main sources of water supply. Recreation facilities included radio/stereo or television.
Thirty four percent of the respondents had no toilets. Majority of the homemakers were residing four kilo-meters away from the market and health center. The home management practices employed were food, home, clothing, training children, yard or garden, energy and time, health and finance managements. Homemakers were classified into low, moderate and high adaptors. Most of the homemakers were moderate adaptors.
Results revealed that among the selected variables, the number of dependents, occupation, proximity to market and health center were found to be independent of home management practices
