Thesis, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, April, 1981.<br/><br/>A total of 50 respondents were used in this study for the purposes of determining the 1) socio-economic characteristics of the riding horse maintainers, 2) cost and return of maintaining riding horse, 3) relationship between cost and return of maintaining riding horse ani selected factors, 4) management practices employed by the maintainers, 5) problems encountered by the maintainers,<br/><br/>Results revealed that most of the riding horse maintainers were relatively young. The average age of the maintainers was 32.76 years, The elementary level was the average educational attainment, Most of the respondents were still single. Majority of the respondents had an experience of four to six years. Forty-two percent had an average income, twenty-six percent hai low income and thirty-two percent had high income,<br/><br/>Worse maintenance serves as an additional source ‘income for the riding horse maintainers. Majority of the maintainers owned from one to three heads of riding horses.<br/><br/>Consequently, the returns from maintaining riding horses and number of stocks were found to be statistically significant. On the other hand, number of stocks and years of experience did not indicate any relationship to cost of maintaining riding horse,<br/><br/>The management practices employed by the riding horse maintainers were the following: selection of stocks, system of feeding, vaccination and housing<br/><br/>The most frequently mentioned problems of the horse maintainers were the insufficiency of feed, lack of capital, veterinary assistance and disposition of the animals.<br/><br/>
