'GROWTH AND FLOWERING RESPONSE OF ANTHURIUM AS AFFECTED BY DIFFERENT LEVELS OF GIBERELLIC ACID (GA) . ADVISER: Mrs. Cecilia A. Capalad<br/><br/>The study "Growth and Flowering Response of Anthurium as Affected by Different Levels of Gibberellic Acid" was conducted at Barangay IV, Indang, Cavite from May to December 1993 to determine the effect of different levels of GA3 on the growth and flowering of anthurium and to find out the levels of GA 3 suitable for the growth and flowering of the plants.<br/>A total of 48 anthurium suckers were used in the experiment and were arranged in a experimental lot using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four treatments and three replications. The plants were treated with 50, 100, and 150 ppm (parts per million) levels of GA 3. The application was done monthly at the rate of 15 ml . / plant/ application. <br/>Highly significant results were obtained on the no. of days from planting to sucker formation, no. of suckers, and no. of days from planting to flower-setting. Significant results were also obtained on the no. of days from planting to shoot formation and no. of significant result was obtained on the plants sprayed with leaves . However, no. of flowers. GA 3 solution gave better performance as compared to the untreated one or the control.Gibberellic acid at the rate of 150 ppm proved to be the best level for growing anthurium for in this level sucker formation and flower—setting is earlier. |
