The study "Rooting Media in Marcotting Roses" was conducted in June 1978 in the nursery project of the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite. It aimed to determine which of the different rooting media using garden soil sphagnum moss, saw dust, and compost is best suited for rooting roses by marcotting. Sixteen potted mirandy rose plants were used in this experiment. Marcotting was born on June 4, 1978. Severance was done in the last week of June 1978. Of the four rooting media used, garden soil (T1) was found best due to its good performance to rooting as observed from the experiment. It is from this treatment where the highest number and longest roots were obtained. The shortest number of days from marcotting to rooting was also obtained from this treatment. The different soil media used had no significant effect on the number of days from marcotting to severance and the mortality rates of marcot.<br/> |
