Kaunana)" . Adviser: Eleanor G. Ersando<br/>This study, "Effects of Varying Levels and Application Intervals of Nitrogenous Fertilizer (Urea) on the Frequency of Flowering in Anthurium (var. Kaunana)", was conducted to find the level or nitrogenous fertilizer and the interval of<br/>its application that will enhance the growth and flowering of anthurium. This also aimed to study the interaction effect between the two factors.<br/><br/> One hundred anthurium plants Kaunana Variety were distributed in a split plot design with two main plot factors and five sub—plot factors. This study was conducted<br/>in a two— factorial: Factor A — interval of fertilizer app1ication — weekly, bi—weekly and Factor B level of fertilizer control, 0.5 tbsp, 1.0 tbsp, 1.5 tbsp and 2.0<br/><br/>Interval or fertilizer application did not affect the average number of days application or fertilizer to flower formation, length and diameter of petioles, length and diameter of spadix and the total number of flowers but it did not affect the width of spathe. On the other hand, the level of fertilizer application did not affect the number of days from application of fertilizer to flower formation, diameter of petiole, length and diameter of spadix, length of spathe and the total number of flowers but it affected the length of petiole and width of spathe„ The best treatment that enhanced the growth of anthurium were those plants applied with an amount of 1.0 tbsp. urea per gallon of water Which produced bigger and numerous flowers, O -5 tbsp. urea per gallon which produced bigger spadix and petiole; and 1.5 tbsp. urea per gallon of water which produced longer spathe .<br/> |
