MATEL, VENERANDA y MOJICA, "Effect of Levels of Ir-rigation on Growth and Yield of Mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) Under Controlled Conditions." B.S. Thesis, Agronomy, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, April 19890 Adviser: DR. VICENTE G. LONTOC,
This study, "Effect of Levels of Irrigation on Growth and Yield of Mungbean Under Controlled Conditions" was conducted at Binambangan Street, Indang, Cavite. The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of different levels of irrigation on the performance of mungbean. The mungbean seeds were planted in twenty pots. The twenty pots were then subdivided into four groups which served as the replications. Furthermore, each replication was divided into a smaller group of five pots which constituted the treatments that were randomly arranged using a Completely Randomized Design.
Major findings: With the data gathered and the computations done, treatment 1 (100% F.C.) gave the best results to almost all of the parameters included in the study. On the average height of mungbean, treatment 1 exhibited the highest values in all of the three stages: a) ten days after germination - 25.64 centimeters; b) flowering - 43.33 centimeters; and c) maturity - 58.45 centimeters© With regards to average total dry matter, treatment 1 also gave the highest values: a) ten days after germination - 0.32 gram b) flowering - 8077 grams; and c) maturity - 17.08 grams. For the yield components of mungbean, treatment 1 again was the highest except for the shelling percentage and harvest index: a) number of pods - eight pods; b) dry weight of pods per plant - 6.9 grams; c) weight of 200 seeds - 14.17 grams; and d) dry weight of seeds - 4.42 grams. At the shelling percentage, T1 (63.75%) was next to T3 (66.86%), the highest was T2 (71.43%). On the harvest index, T4 (35.79%) was the highest and T1 (25.86) was next.
Height of the crop, total dry matter at different growth stages and the yield components of mungbean (except for the number of pods) were found to be significantly different between treatments as suggested by the higher computed F values than the tabular F (shown below). This means that the different levels of irrigation applied to each treatment affected the growth and development of mungbean.

1.
