Rodriguez.<br/><br/>This study was conducted to find out the relation of demographic, socio- economic status, coping techniques and frustration tolerance of selected college students.<br/><br/>It aimed to (a) identify the demographic profiles of selected college students in terms of age, gender and year level; (b) identify the socio-economic status in terms of fathers’ educational attainment, mothers’ educational attainment, fathers’ occupation, mothers’ occupation, family income, type of residence and properties; (c) identify coping techniques of selected college students in terms of adaptive coping technique and maladaptive coping technique; (d) identify the levels of frustration tolerance of selected college students; (¢) determine the significant relationship of demographic profile to coping techniques; (f) determine the significant relationship of socio-economic status to coping techniques; (g) determine the significant relationship of demographic profile to frustration tolerance; (h) determine the significant relationship of socio-economic status to frustration tolerance; (i) determine the significant relationship of coping techniques to frustration tolerance; (j) determine the significant difference between the coping techniques of the two- group respondents; (k) determine the significant difference between the frustration tolerance of the two-group respondents.<br/><br/>This study was conducted from November 2007 to February 2008, with main focus on the demographic profile, socio-economic status, coping techniques and frustration tolerance of selected college students.<br/><br/>The respondents were selected college students from Cavite State University and De La Salle University — Dasmarinas.<br/><br/>This study employed descriptive-correlation design. The Modified Coping Techniques Inventory and Frustration Tolerance Test were used to determine the coping techniques and level of frustration tolerance of both groups of respondents.<br/><br/>Result revealed that demographic profiles, namely, age, and year level have a significant relationship with coping techniques and frustration tolerance. In addition, socio- economic status, including mothers’ occupation and property had a significant relationship with coping techniques and frustration tolerance. With regards to coping techniques and frustration tolerance, the study revealed these two had significant relationships.<br/><br/>Furthermore, the study revealed that there is no significant difference between<br/>the coping techniques and frustration tolerance of Cavite State University respondents and the coping techniques and frustration tolerance of De La Salle University — Dasmarinas.<br/> |
