Summary, etc. OBICE, JUNELLE CHRISTIAN M. and RODRIGUEZ, NOMAR JUDE M., Gender Role Analysis of Productive Activities among Workers in Selected Companies in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Mary Joyce P. Alcazar.

The study primarily aimed to determine and enumerate the gender roles in the productive activities associated to the workers in selected companies in Cavite. Factors such as the nature of industry of the worker's company, the productive activities in the company, the job positions, as well as the worker's gender were considered in the study. The subjects in the study were 281 stratified randomly selected male and female participants in the different departments of companies coming from different sectors of the industry. Four selected companies were considered in the study, namely: Cavite Feeds Milling Corporation (CAFCOR), Industrial Galvanizers Corporation of the Philippines (IGCP), Integrated Microelectronics Incorporated (IMI), and Lee and Choi Manufacturing Apparel Incorporated (LCMAI) which are all located in Cavite.
Descriptive analysis was made to determine and describe the demographic profile of the participants such as the age, sex, company and the job position. In addition, results from the descriptive analysis showed that: productive activities that were managerial, utility, production, materials, maintenance, information technology, and security-related in nature were all associated to male workers; and, clerical, quality control, and health-related productive activities were commonly associated to female workers. The analysis also showed that the most common cause of gender bias towards productive activities was the nature of job.

The result of the correlation analysis showed that the worker's sex affected his/her employability in a particular company. The correlation analysis also showed that the worker's sex also affected the productive activities that were associated to certain genders thus resulting to productive activities that were commonly assigned to a specific gender.
The study recommended that each company should conduct related studies for the employees that would focus on the gender based analysis among its different productive activities. It also recommended that the management of the company should encourage the employees to promote the importance of observing and conducting gender role analysis.
