Summary, etc. ALMAZAN, CHEAYANNE JOIE C. Employee Motivational Strategies in Hyundai Alabang, Inc. Las Pinas City. Undergraduate Case Study. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Human Resource Development Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2013. Adviser: Prof. Cecilia T. Cayao.
A case study was conducted at Hyundai Alabang, Inc. located at Zapote Road, Almanza Uno, Las Pinas City from December 20, 2012 to January 31, 2013. It aimed to describe the different employee motivational strategies used by the firm, analyze the motivational strategies focusing on their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT), and determine the motivational problems encountered by both employees and managers. Information and data about the motivational strategies were gathered through personal interviews with Human Resource Manager and employees of the firm. Secondary data were obtained from the record and files of the company. Tables and figures were used to present and analyze the data gathered. Motivational strategies were generally categorized into internal and external strategies. External motivational strategies were provided by the Hyundai Asia Resource, Inc., Suburbia Automotive Venture, Inc., and Hyundai Genuine Motor Oil to the employees of HAI, specifically under the Service, Sales and Parts Department. The external motivational strategies include incentives of car wash, oil, insurance, parts and accessories. On the other hand, internal motivational strategies were those provided by the company for those employees.
Monetary incentives include 13th month pay, E-cola, Dealer incentives, Sick Leave Conversion and Medical Allowances. Non-monetary incentives included Trainings and Seminar, Skills Olympics, SSS Contribution, Philhealth Contribution, Pag-Ibig Fund, Health Maintenance Organization (Health Card), Maternity Leave, and Paternity Leave. Identified motivational strategies were analyzed by identifying the companies' strength, weakness, opportunities and threats (SWOT). Employees and managers were looking for above industry average benefits and compensation. Due to this, turnover of employees had increased. There is also the lack of team building activities that will promote cooperation which also causes dissatisfaction among employees. Employees tend to perform better if they are at ease at their working environment and co-employees.
