Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Resort Management, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, October<br/>2013, Adviser: Mrs. Joana Marie M. Tayag.<br/><br/>The study was conducted to determine the tour preferences of Tourism Management student in Cavite State University. Specifically, it aimed to: a) determine the demographic profile of respondents in terms of age, gender, year, civil status and monthly family income; b) identify the tour preferences of respondents in terms of place, days of visit/ length of stay, tour inclusions, amount of educational tour, mode of transportation and time of travel; c) identify the factors that motivate tourism students to join a tour in order to learn, to have leisure, adventure experience and to visit other places; and d) to determine if there is significant relationship between the tour preference of tourism students and the impact of tours to academic performance of the respondents to the motivation of students in choosing a tour.<br/><br/>This study was conducted from June 2013 to October 2013 in the tourism management students in College of Education, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Purposive sampling technique was used in identifying the respondents, wherein there were 21 respondents in every section under the course of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management. A total of one hundred sixty-eight (168) respondents were involved in this study.<br/><br/>The mean, percentage, frequency, standard deviation, Likert scale and spearman rho were the statistical tools used in this study.<br/><br/>Based from analysis on the results gathered this lead the researchers to conclude that majority of the Tourism Management students in Cavite State University- Main Campus preferred all inclusive tour and have a trip during morning through riding on an airplane which is the mode of transportation they wanted to. It also resulted that the students wanted to have a tour with a minimum of 2,001 and not higher than 2,500 in amount. It also shows that students wanted to experience a tour without inconvenience. It was also found out that most of the students would like to stay in their chosen destination in not less than three (3) days and two (2) nights. The study also revealed that the students were motivated to join in a tour to have leisure and visit other places.<br/><br/>Moreover, there is a significant relationship between the tour preferences of Tourism Management students to the impact of tour to the academic performance.<br/> |
