Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015. Adviser: Ms. Jazmin F. Piores. <br/><br/> This study was conducted to determine the training time preference of an athlete in Cavite State University- Main Campus specifically the individual/ dual and combative sports events varsity athletes of Cavite State University- Main Campus. The study described the demographic profile of the individual/ dual and combative sports events varsity athletes; determined their actual training time schedule, discover their preferred training time schedule; and ascertained the relationship of their demographic profile to their preferred time of training. <br/>The participants were 67 Cavite State University individual/ dual and combative sports events varsity athletes. A survey questionnaire was used to gather the needed data. Descriptive statistical tool was used to answer the problems posed in the study. <br/>Result showed that most of the participants were 18-19 years old, where 56.7% were male. Most of the respondents were from the combative sports event "taekwondo" and 35.8% of them were below average wage earners. <br/><br/> In terms of the training time preference of individual/ dual and combative sports event athletes of Cavite State University- Main Campus, 55.22% prefer training in the morning, while those who prefer afternoon were in 44.78%, lastly those who prefer evening were in 32.84%. The result showed that more than half of the respondents prefer training in the morning. The result also showed overlapping of data, due to training preferences of the respondents. some chose two training sessions, some were three. Some respondents answered sometimes, which means that some of them trains depending on their mood and their availability. 37.31% of them answered sometimes, They prefer training in the evening. While 32.83% of them answered sometimes, they prefer training in the afternoon. Lastly 26.87% of them prefer training in the morning. Lastly, it shows that 29.85% of them does not prefer training in the evening, while 22.39% of them does not prefer training in the afternoon, and 17.91% of them does not prefer training in the morning. It means that most of the respondents prefer training in the morning. <br/><br/> The study showed that the actual training time of the respondents depends on the types of sports they have. Most of the respondents from taekwondo has their actual training in the evening, while least actual training time session was the morning session. <br/>With regards to the relationship of the participants' demographic profile to their training time preference, test statistics showed that only the type of sports was found to be significantly related to their preference of training time. On the other hand, age, gender, family income were not significantly related to their training time preference. <br/> |
