ESPIRITU, ESTHER JOYCE G., LOYOLA, ELIZABETH R. and TALISIC, HONEY GRACE R. "Am I on the Right Track?": Work Adjustment and Work Efficacy of Career Mismatched Graduates of Batch 2013 of Cavite State University-Main Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015. Adviser: Mrs. Joy N. Babaan.
The researchers sought to determine the work adjustment and work efficacy of career mismatched graduates. The study sought to determine the following: (1) the work adjustment of the participants in terms of achievement, comfort, status, altruism, safety and autonomy; (2) the work efficacy of the career mismatched graduates in terms of: performance outcome, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion and emotional arousal; and (3) if there is no relationship between work adjustment and work efficacy. The study was conducted from June 2014 to January 2015. The researchers used the descriptive-correlation as research design to explain the current situation using structured questionnaires. Purposive sampling technique was used in the study with the following set of criteria to gather information accurately. The participants were 52 career mismatched graduates of batch 2013 of Cavite State University- Main Campus. The researchers used a self-made test for work adjustment and lifted questionnaires named Work Related Self-efficacy Scale from Meresen & Montenegro (2014) from their study entitled "Work Bullying". Both instruments undergone validation and reliability from experts. Based on the findings, career mismatched graduates are both positive towards work adjustment and work efficacy, they are highly adapted to work environment, routines, workmates and they are more likely adjusted in work. The results also showed that participants are very high in achievement and safety sub-variables. While the others like comfort, status, altruism and autonomy have high level. The career mismatched graduates' work efficacy results are very high in performance outcomes, vicarious experiences and verbal persuasion. On the other hand, they have high level in emotional arousal. The result showed that work adjustments are not significantly related to work efficacy.
|
