Summary, etc. |
A total of 200 Commercial cobb broiler chicks were used in this study to compare the effect of Broiler Starter Mash and Mighty Chick Booster Mash on the growth of broilers. The birds were equally and randomly distributed to two treatments. Each treatment was replicated four times with twenty five (25) birds per replication. results showed significant differences on the second to eight weeks average body weight of birds fed with Mighty Chick Booster Mash over birds fed with pure Broiler Starter Nash. It could be noted from the data on the second, fourth, sixth and eight weeks that the mean or average body weight varied in their level of significance. On the second and six weeks observation, the analysis of data showed significant differences both in 1 and %, whereas, in the fourth and eight weeks observation, data showed significant difference at 5 percent level.

Yo immediate explanation could be given to this phenomenon, yet, but by enlarge, Booster Feed was better than Broiler Starter Feed as the mean of means of Booster Feed showed a difference of 40.9h grams per bird over the per bird weight of Broiler Starter Feed. On second and fourth week there was no significant differences observed on the average feed consumption of birds in both treatments. On the fourth and eight weeks no significant differences were observed on the average feed efficiency of the birds. Mortality was observed only on Treatment with an average of 0.05 percent. Higher monetary return was also met by birds fed with highly Chick 'Booster :Mash having an average of P 2.98 per kilogram live weight over birds fed with pure Broiler Starter "Mash which only give P 2.55 per kilogram light weight
|
