Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in International Studies major in European Studies. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Prof Nelia E. Feranil. <br/>The study was conducted to determine the perception and attitude of the members of different sectors in Cavite on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) protecting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community utilizing a descriptive-correlation research with 150 participants who are classified into three different groups. Thirty three percent came from the religious sector which involves Priest from Roman Catholic, Minister of Iglesia ni Cristo, Pastor of Evangelical Christian and Protestant and Aleem of the Muslims. The other 33 percent came from the LGBT sector composed of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. Lastly, the remaining percent came from the government sector which includes the Mayor, Public Attorney, and <br/>Municipal Social Welfare and Development officers. The age of the participants ranged from 17 to 68 years with a mean age of 35.68 years. Most of the participants were male, married, and with college degree. Results revealed that the members of different sectors in Cavite strongly agree with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights protecting LGBT community. Age, gender, and sector where they belong had a significant relationship with perception. However, educational attainment and civil status were found not significant to their perception.<br/>On the other hand, attitude of members of different sectors in Cavite was neither favorable nor unfavorable with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights protecting LGBT community as shown by the overall mean of 3.25. The statistical result revealed that age, gender, and sector to where they belong had a significant relationship with their attitude. However, educational attainment and civil status were found not significant to their attitude. More so, it was found out that perception and attitude of the members of different sector in Cavite on UDHR protecting LGBT community are related with each other.<br/> |
