Cavite State University. April 2016, Thesis Adviser: Mrs. Joy N. Babaan. This study was conducted to determine the Parenting Style, Parents’ Reinforcement and Environmental Adaptation of Parents of Children with Autism (CWA) in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to: (1) determine the parenting style used by the parents: (2) determine the parents’ reinforcement; (3) determine the environmental adaptation and: (4) determine the relationship between parenting style and environmental adaptation and parents’ reinforcement and environmental adaptation of the parents of CWA. The participants of this study were thirty one parents of CWA, residing in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. The sampling technique employed in the study was purposive sampling technique, which is non-probability purposive sampling and is employed in the selection of the parents. Descriptive correlational design was used in this study to obtain, explain, and correlate the variables, such as parenting style, parents’ reinforcement and environmental adaptation. Descriptive correlational research design was also used in this study, which involves analysis and evaluation of the relationships between the parenting style and environmental adaptation and: parents’ reinforcement and environmental adaptation of the participants. Mean, median, percentage, standard deviation and Spearman rank was used to calculate and interpret the answer of the objectives of the study which are the personal data sheet of the participants. The findings of the study indicated that majority of the parents used the authoritative parenting style, and is using positive reinforcement. They only have a moderate level in problem-focused and environmental adaptation. Results also revealed that there is no significant relationship between parenting style and environmental adaptation but in parents’ reinforcement and environmental adaptation has a significant relationship. This means that the parents of CWA were less likely to use discipline to their child because they are more of supporting and strengthening the behaviour of their child. They are more of imposing positive reinforcement rather than focusing on the bad behaviour of the child.
