January, 2015. Adviser: Dr. Cecilia B. Banaag. This study generally aimed to determine the Teenage dilemma towards premarital sex. Specifically, this study aimed to: (1) find out the reasons and circumstances that led the participants to engage in premarital sex; (2) describe how the participants dealt with their family, friends, and other peers after getting involved in premarital sex; and (3) investigate how the participants confronted the problems, struggles and controversies that they encountered after getting involved in premarital sex. The study used four female participants, ages 13-19 years old when they engaged in premarital sex. Purposive and snowball sampling were used to determine the sample participants. The researchers used qualitative design, which is a case study for in depth understanding. The researchers presented the results case by case. The results we’re thematically analyzed. Themes related to research questions were summarized. Factors that led the participants to engage in premarital sex included the emotional involvement, dominant and older partner, innocence, and environmental conditions. As regard the social relations of the teenagers after getting involved in premarital sex, they considered themselves to: become private,became subservient, became distrustful, and became uncomfortable. However, teenagers felt accepted by their friends and became matured. Lastlywas the coping with problems after involving in premarital sex. These included avoidance, rationalization and repression as their defense mechanism. In addition, most of them became more involved with friends and became more spiritual.
