Self-Concept, Delinquency and Social Adjustment of Children having an Incarcerated Parents in Selected Jails in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2015. Thesis Adviser. Ms. Mary Jane A. Amparo. This study specifically aimed to determine: 1) the self-concept of the participants in terms of positive self-concept and negative self-concept; 2) the tendency of delinquencyof the participants in terms of academic delinquency and social delinquency; 3) the social adjustment of the participants in terms of school adjustment, family adjustment and peer adjustment; 4) significant relationship of self-concept and delinquency; 5) significant relationship of self-concept and social adjustment; and 6) significant relationship of delinquency and social adjustment. The study used descriptive-correlational research design. It was conducted in the City of Dasmarinas Imus and Bacoor Cavite. A total of 44 participants were asked to answer the three instruments that measured the relationship of self-concept, delinquency and social adjustment of the participants. It was found out that the participants have below average self-concept. On the other hand, of the participants have the result of low tendency to commit delinquent behavior. In social adjustment the researchers have the result of high in social adjustment. Moreover, self-concept has no significant relationship with the delinquency, also self-concept and social adjustment has no significant relationship. However the result between delinquency and social adjustment has significant relationship.
