The research is about the trauma and coping mechanism of sexually abused girls in Bahay Tuluyan ng mga Bata sa Dasmarifias conducted from June 2014 to February 2015. This study specifically aimed to determine how was the trauma experienced and how the children cope with the trauma brought about by the sexual abuse. The study used a multiple case study design with quantitative and qualitative data. For the quantitative part, there were two sets of questionnaires: Self-made Trauma Questionnaire and Coping Questionnaire while for the qualitative part, face-to-face interview was employed. The study involved seven participants. The sexually abused girls were subjective in their trauma and coping mechanism. Results revealed that those who experienced incest had a severe or profound trauma. The predominant evidence trauma experienced by the sexually abused girls were being attracted towards sexual ideas, the fear towards the opposite sex, thoughts that it would happen again to them, distrust towards others specifically opposite sex and having a low sense of self-worth. It was also found out that active coping was the most utilized and most helpful coping mechanism. Seeking social support help them the most to cope with the trauma brought about by the sexual abuse.
