Abstract: ASPREC, JEFFREY V. and OCAMPO, GULLYVER JOHN A. Just-In-Time Analysis of Selected Manufacturing Firms in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Ms. Mary Joyce P. Alcazar. The study aimed to analyze the Just-In-Time (JIT) system of selected manufacturing firms in Cavite. Specifically, the researchers aimed to: (1) describe the manner of JIT application in the selected firms; (2) identify the problems which have been encountered in implementing the JIT system; and, (3) evaluate the major factors which may have influenced the success of JIT implementation. Furthermore, the study involved five (5) selected firms which are practicing the JIT system. The study employed the quantitative research design which utilized the descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean, and t-test to analyze the data. The selected manufacturing firms were established from the years 1997 up to 1998, these firms practiced the concepts of the JIT system since they were established. The level of JIT practices of each firm were found to be outstanding since most of the JIT practices are always exercised by its employees. However, only three manufacturing firms presented out the problems that they encountered during the JIT system implementation. Some of these problems were: difficulty in delivering the finished products within schedule, presence of defective products bound for delivery, and no firm growth. The JIT practices of the selected firms in Cavite were also compared to the practices done by companies in Midwestern United States. Remarkable similarities between the two sets of firms were confirmed, except that the technologies of the local firms are out dated when compared to the ones engaged in the US companies.
