Abstract: Vejerano, Elmer S. Operation Land Transfer: Repayment Ability of its Beneficiaries. B.S. Thesis, DSAC, Indang, Cavite, March 1980. This study was conducted to determine primarily some socio-economic factors associated with the repayment ability of Operation Land Transfer Beneficiaries. The other objectives were: 1.) to present a profile of Operation Land Transfer beneficiaries, 2.) to assess repayment ability of its beneficiaries, 3.) to find out the problems encountered by its beneficiaries with respect to repayment ability, and 4.) relationship of some socio-economic factors associated with the repayment ability of its beneficiaries. This study covered six barrios of Apalit Pampanga, from which 172 farmers were selected at random and were personally interviewed. A twenty percent sample of all possible respondents was also taken. The average age of farmers was 49 years. Most of them were married. Four was the average number of dependents. was the average number of household members of farmers. Most of them were able to reach primary grades. Their amortized land had an average of 1.37 hectares and owned 2 parcels. Mostly, they were members of formal organizations. Their gross product- ion belonged to medium level with an average of 165 cavans. The most frequently mentioned sources of credit of the to determine the Seven respondents were PNB, RB, and LBP. They were medium borrowers. Majority of the farmers (59.15%) had fully paid dues, 33.08% had partially paid and 7.05% had unpaid dues. The most frequently mentioned problems of the respondents were low crop production and the occurrence of tungro diseases. Their main suggestion was to increase their product- ion through modern technology and better credit assistance. Among priorities for the farmers to pay were land tax and Masagana 99 loan which ranked as first and second, respectively. Of the 172 respondents, low production due to tungro's occurrence was the first problem reported by farmers. followed by flood, rat infestation, and poor feeder roads. Age, number of dependents, educational attainment, credit situation and transportation facilities were found to be significantly associated to repayment ability.
