Abstract: INASORIA, GERALD A. and SUMAGAYSAY, GELLIE ANNE N. Development Plan of Indang Public Market. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. March 2016. Adviser: Engr. Rico C Asuncion. The study entitled "Development Plan of Indang Public Market" was conducted at Cavite State University — Main Campus from June 2015 to February 2016. The study aimed to develop the site development plan and to design a two-storey dry market building for Indang Public Market. The study included the architectural plans and structural details of the proposed building. The estimated total project cost of the proposed building is P 23, 154,197.80. The Engineering Software STAAD (Structural Aided Analysis and Design) was used in the analysis of the frame and truss. The guidelines set by the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) were followed in the design computation. The maximum moment, shear and axial loads were the basis for the design while AutoCAD (Auto Computer Aided Design) for the appearance of the market structure. All needed specifications were followed in the design process. The computed design were 2 -L 75 x 75 x 6 and 2 -L 65 x 65 x 5 for truss, LC 220 x 75 x 25 x 4.5 purlins with 16 mm ø of sag rod, 600 mm x 600 mm and 550 mm x 500 mm for columns, 3.0 m x 3.0 m and 3.7 m x 3.7 m for footing. And lastly, 150 mm and 100 mm for the thickness of the slab. Detailed analysis of the design was proven safe and economical after the manual computation of the design. The study can be useful and can also meet the client's needs that fitted to the government regulations and market standards but for future researchers, the authors recommended to use steel design for other way of constructing a dry market building and the using of space method in STAAD to compute the forces in each member.
