Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Engr. Cene M. Bago. The study entitled “Proposed Design of Four Storey Community Library in Dasmarinas, Cavite were conducted from October 2016 to April 2017 at Cavite State University. The main objective of the study was to propose a design of four storey community library in Dasmarinas City, specifically it aimed to provide architectural plans and structural plan of the proposed structure, provide a structural analysis of the structure, provide a cost estimate of the proposed project excluding electrical and plumbing layout and provide a tarpaulin print out of the project’s perspective as an output of the study. For the architectural plan, the total height of the proposed building was 18.40 meters and the total floor area per floor was 2,700 square meters. The Engineering Software STAAD (Structural Aided Analysis and Design) was used in the analysis of structural framework. The guidelines set by the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) were followed in the design computation. The result for beams were: beam — 300 mm x 400 mm, beam 2 - 300 mm x 550 mm and tie beam and roof beam — 300 mm x 400 mm. For column, having a section of 600 mm x 600 mm. For footing, footing | having a section of 3.2 mx 3.2 mand footing 2 - 5.0 mx 5.0 m. For the design of truss, bottom chord - PIPX20, top chord - PIPX20 and web member — PIPX12. For purlins and sag rods, having a section of LC 220 x 75 x 25 x 3.4 with sag rod of 10mm @. The total estimated analysis component of the building was about P 136,754,841.12 including labor, materials and equipment and excluding electrical and plumbing. Having a P 12,662.49 per square meter. It was concluded that the proposed community library can be utilized by the administration and is feasible to be a reference for future development. It is recommended that future researchers construct the detailed plan of electrical and plumbing layout of the said proposal. Future study for this matter is recommended.
