Abstract: ESTOMO, MA. JESSA MAE E. and FABITO, DANIELLE PATRICE C. Perception of Safety Officers of Selected Industrial Factories in Trece Martires City, Cavite Towards Information Dissemination of Bureau of Fire Protection and their Compliance with the Fire Safety Policies and Procedures. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Mr. Allan Robert C. Solis This study aimed to identify the perception of safety officers of selected industrial factories in Trece Martires City towards the information dissemination of Bureau of Fire Protection and their level of compliance to the fire safety policies and procedures. It was conducted from January 2016 to April 2017 in selected industrial factories located in various barangays in Trece Martires City, Cavite as well as in the Bureau of Fire Protection of the same city. In order to get the desired results, the researchers used a mixed method approach wherein both qualitative and quantitative data were gathered. For the qualitative part of the study, the researchers interviewed two fire safety inspectors from BFP-Trece Martnres City. Meanwhile, for the quantitative part, a self-made survey questionnaire was administered to safety officers of industrial factories in Trece Martires City from December 2016 to March 2017. Results of the interview were interpreted through Content Analysis while the results of the retrieved survey questionnaires were computed and analyzed by a statistician. Based on the interview, the participants' responses indicated that generally, the communication between BFP and safety officers started with the safety officers' initiative to go to the headquarters personally to inquire about the policies and procedures the factory had to comply with. Moreover, BFP used written materials (e.g. letters, notices) to inform the safety officers about what they should comply and what violations they committed. On the other hand, results of the survey inquiry showed that the safety officers "Strongly Agree" with the BFP's way of dissemination information, with a grand mean of 4.49. These industrial factories also had "Very Strong Compliance" with the fire safety policies and procedures, with a grand mean of 4.45. Moreover, the researchers also found out that the level of compliance of the industrial factories to the fire safety policies did not have a significant relationship to the fire safety officer's perception to BFP's information dissemination, which got a correlation coefficient of 0.478. These implied that the participants understood their significant roles as promoters of safety particularly in fire prevention. Furthermore, industrial factories in Trece Martires City were able to accomplish the necessary requirements and have abided by the rules, as stated particularly in the Fire Code of the Philippines. Lastly, results indicated that whatever these safety officers' perception was towards BFP's way of disseminating information, did not affect their compliance with the fire safety policies and procedures.
