P.lnfluence of Police Uniform to Philippine National Police Officers' Power, Authority and Culture. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Dr. Ruby Ann L. Espineli.
This study was conducted from August 2016 to May 2017 to determine the influence of police uniform to selected Philippine National Police officers' power, authority and culture as perceived by them, community, and barangay officials.
Descriptive method of research was used to describe the influences of police uniform to PNP officers' power, authority and culture. It includes 12 police officers from cities of Dasmarifias and General Trias and municipalities of Amadeo and Indang police stations, six barangay officials, and six community members from the said cities and municipalities where the selected officers are assigned. Interview guide served as the main gathering tool in this study.
Findings imply that police uniform is a symbol of power, favor, responsibilities, rights to exercise duty, selective enforcement of law and privileges.
It is concluded that police uniform strongly influences police officers' power, authority and culture.
Thus, this study recommended police officers and organization to value the real significant contribution of police uniform in the implementation and performance of their services to the community.
