This study was conducted to determine the awareness and perception of solo parents of Indang, Cavite on Republic Act 8972 or Solo Parents' Welfare Act of 2000. Specifically, it aimed to find out the level of awareness of the solo parents in Indang, Cavite on Republic Act 8972; to determine the perception of the solo parents in Indang, Cavite on Republic Act 8972; and to explain the relationship between the level of awareness and perception of the solo parents on Republic Act 8972. The participants of this study were 56 solo parents from Indang, Cavite who were chosen through non-probability sampling. Survey was employed to gather data from the participants. Consent forms were provided to ensure the anonymity of the participants. Pretesting of instrument was employed to the selected participants to ensure the effectiveness of the questionnaires of the study. Results showed that the panicipants were unacquainted with the benefits and programs provided in the Republic Act that could help them. Results also showed that the participants agreed on those benefits, thus, it implied that solo parents in Indang, Cavite considered the privileges and benefits provided by the Act. Based on the findings, it revealed that there is a significant relationship between the level of awareness and perception of the solo parents in Republic Act 8972. Results implied that even if that the solo parents were unaware of the Act, they were still considering the benefits and privileges provided by the Republic Act.
