Abstract: ABSTRACT CUPAY, ELLAENE JOYCE C., DAVADILLA, SHAIRA MAE T., and PANINGBATAN, VENUS J., Academic Performance of Varsity Athletes at Rizal Technological University.Undergraduate Thesis.Bachelor in Sports and Recreational Management.Cavite State University,Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser Ms. Jazmin Piores- Cubillo. The purpose of this study was to determine the demographic profile of varsity athletes of RTU and their respective academic performance indicators — the questionnaires, to show how these significantly affect them especially if grouped according to their demographic profile. Descriptive research design was utilized in this study. A total of seventy- four varsity athletes enrolled in the first semester of AY 2016-2017 serve as the respondent of the study. A survey instrument was used to gather data from participants to identified their academic performance by rating each to a range of one (1) meaning that varsity athletes "Strongly Disagree" to five (5) which is "Strongly Agree". Result was tallied and organized into frequency distribution tables. Frequency counts, means, range, percentage and standard deviation were determined and interpreted to resolve the first and second research issues were to be presented descriptively. Result showed that the overall academic performance for the 74 varsity athlete participants reveal a mean value of 3.6784 which a "very satisfactory" and that there is no significant difference on the academic performance of the varsity athlete when grouped according to their demographic profile
