Coping Mechanism on Work-life Conflict and the Work-life Balance among Employees in Selected Manufacturing Companies in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. A study was conducted from August to December 2018 in selected manufacturing companies in Cavite. Specifically inside the chosen Economic Zones in Cavite namely First Cavite Industrial Estate (FCIE), Gateway Business Park and Cavite Economic Zone IL With the objectives to describe the socio-demographics profile of the manufacturing employees such as the age, sex, civil status, years of service and nature of the job, describe the experiential level of employees' work-life conflict in terms of: family-work, and work-family; describe the work-life status of manufacturing employees in terms of: family satisfaction, work satisfaction and psychological health; ascertain if there is a relationship between work-life conflict and work-life balance, and coping mechanism and work-life balance. Descriptive statistical tools were used in presenting and analysing all the data collected in the study. Mean, percentage, frequency and range were used to describe the socio-demographic profile of the participants, the experiential level of employees' work-life conflict, the work-life status of the manufacturing employees and the coping mechanism of the employees. Spearman Rank Correlation was employed to analyse the relationship between two variables. In this study, it was utilized to ascertain the relationship between work-life conflict and work-life balance as well as the relationship between coping mechanism and work-life balance. The socio-demographic characteristics of manufacturing employees in Cavite show that majority were female ages were between 18 to 24 years old. Results also showed that majority of employees were single, 1 to 5 years of experience with their job and most of them are in clerical position. For the results about work-life conflict, the result showed that the family and work matters moderately affecting each other. The overall mean of 2.66 signified that the work-life conflict influenced the work-life balance of employees in manufacturing companies in Cavite. For coping mechanism, Problem solving ranked first among coping mechanisms preferred by the employees, second was relaxing, third was support and lastly was avoidance. The result also showed that the overall coping strategies are moderately helpful for the employees to manage the stress regarding work-life conflict. For work-life status, the result showed that employees are extremely satisfied with their work and family life and psychologically healthy. In terms of family satisfaction, majority of the employees were satisfied with their family life, their family-life was close to their ideal. In terms of work-satisfaction, majority of the employees are happy with their work, doing a great job and feel that they fit in. Overall, it shows that the work-life status of employees was balanced. Moreover, the result showed that there is no significant relationship between wick-life conflict and work-life balance. It means that work-family conflict is not affecting the work-life balance of employees in manufacturing companies in Cavite. Lastly, results also revealed that there was a positive significant relationship between coping mechanism of manufacturing employees and work-life balance of manufacturing employees. It means that with the help of coping mechanisms, employees would achieve a balance work-life.
