Abstract: BAUTISTA, MARY ANN A. and DE GUZMAN, ANN MARIE GRACE S. Development of Management Information System for Barangay Kaytapos Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Prof Gladys G. Perey. The study, Development of Management Information System for Barangay Kaytapos Indang, Cavite, was conducted from August 2017 to April 2018, at Cavite State University and Barangay Kaytapos, Indang, Cavite to provide a secure and more manageable barangay records such as residents and barangay officials' information. Specifically, it aimed to: 1. develop a computerized management information system for the client barangay which included a profiling module that provided a more detailed and updated information about the residents. Thereby, it guaranteed the client of a more reliable, accurate and easy to retrieve records; 2. manage the data properly and secure confidential files of the barangay and the residents by having a backup database of all the records; and 3. disseminate information and announcements to the residents and officials through SMS notification module. The system was made up of 10 modules namely, account management module, barangay officials module, resident profiling module, finance management module, health and sanitation module, peace and order module, clearances and forms, communication module, special projects and report generation module. Iterative development model was the methodology used by the researchers which consist of seven phases: planning phase, requirement and analysis design phase, implementation phase, software testing phase, testing phase, evaluation phase and deployment phase. Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), My Structured Query Language (MySQL), Hypertext Markup Language and Apache as the server were among the application used during the development of the software. The software was evaluated and tested using unit, integration and system testing. Wherein, 10 IT experts from the College of Engineering and Information Technology and 10 barangay officials of barangay Kaytapos Indang, Cavite evaluated and gave their feedbacks on the system. It was evaluated according to its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, and user-friendliness. The result of the evaluation showed that the system met all the requirements and expectations of the organization.
