Abstract: DIMAPILIS, ROMMEL H., MARANAN, LEIZL A., NARVAEZ, JENNY LOU Q., and VILLANUEVA, WALLY N. Design and Implementation of Video Surveillance System through Switched Telephone Line. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. October 2004. Adviser: Engr. Mary-Anne D. Costa. The objective of the study was conducted to design and implement a video surveillance system. Specifically, it aimed to install an alarm system in the Internet Laboratory and the Dean's Office at the Information Technology Building design and construct a Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) decoder-controller circuit, construct a transmitter for sending the video signal to the monitoring station, design and construct a power supply capable of supplying the needed voltage by the system, test and evaluate the performance of Video Surveillance System through Switched Telephone Lines through pilot testing and conduct a cost-computation of the study. The design project was composed of DTMF decoder-controller circuit, RF transmitter circuit, Power supply circuit, Telephone circuit, Antenna and the software. The DTMF decoder-controller circuit controls the whole operation of the surveillance system. The RF transmitter circuit on the other hand performs the sending of video captured by the surveillance camera to the monitoring station. The Power Supply circuit was designed to fit the requirements used by the device to operate the system. The Telephone Circuit is for dialing and controlling the transmitter, camera and rotator. Rhombic Antenna was used with maximum range of 286 meters. The monitoring station was located at the office of Civil Security inside the Administration Building. It was composed of television as receiver to view the video signal from the remote station at the IT building. The device has an input power of 350 mW and a carrier frequency of 482 MI-lz and may be transmitted within a maximum range of 286 m from the transmitter.
