The study, "Effect of Treating Soil and Seeds Using Different Insecticides on the Growth and Yield of Peanut" was conducted at Cabuco, Trece Marti res City, from May to November, 1981 using a 304075 square meter area. This was designed to determine the effectiveness of the different insecticides on the growth and yield of peanut.
Least Significant Mean Difference (LSMD) was used in testing the means of the ten treatments, namely the seed treatments, the soil treatment, the soil and seed treatments (using Chlordane, Furadan and Bionex, respectively) and the control plots
Chlordane and Furadan were slightly toxic to plants (peanuts) . Chlordane gave the highest percentage qf germination. The effect of insecticides were short lived only. The use of three insecticides did not affect the growth and yield of peanut.
