The study, "The Use of Ethel in Off Season Pine apple Fruiting t% was conducted at Kabangaan, Silang, Cavite from November 1981 to April, 1982 to determine the appropriate amount of Ethel to induce flowering of pineapple and to determine the effect of Ethel application on the length, diameter and weight of pineapple fruits.
A randomized complete block design was used in this study. There were three treatments and three replications. The treatments used were as follows: Treatment 1 (205 cc e of Ethel per 10 liters of water), Treatment 2 (3.5 cc. of Ethel per 10 liters of water), and Treatment 3 (4.5 cc 0 of Ethrel per 10 liters of water) Forty milliliters of each solution was poured into the heart of each plant about twelve months old 0
Treatment 2 (305 cc. of Ethrel per 10 liters of water) and Treatment 3 (405 cc. of Ethrel per 10 liters of water) produced 100 percent flower setting 0 The size and weight of fruits in the different treatments were not affected by Ethrel application.
The result of the experiment showed that the application of 305 cc. of Ethrel per 10 liters of water could induce flower at lower cost.
