Abstract: KIM, CHRISTINE C., LOZADA, JOHN ERCEL P., AND OLIVEROS, ANNE CAROLINE G. Anti-Angiogenic Effect of Yellow Bell (Allamanda cathartica) Flower Crude Extract on the Chorioallantoic Membrane of Duck (Anas platyrhynchos) Embryo. Undergraduate Research Study. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, October 2018. Adviser: Evelyn M. Del Mundo, PhD. The study, entitled “Anti-angiogenic Effect of Yellow Bell (A//amanda cathartica) Flower Crude Extract on the Chorioallantoic Membrane of Duck (Anas platyrhynchos) Embryo”, was conducted at the Department of Medical Technology-College of Nursing, Cavite State University-Main Campus Indang, Cavite from May 2018 to September 2018. The study generally aimed to determine the anti-angiogenic effect of Yellow Bell (Allamanda cathartica) flower using the duck (Anas platyrhynchos) chorioallantoic membrane assay. Specifically, this study aimed to: determine the significant difference on the growth of the blood vessels using different concentrations of Yellow bell (A//lamanda cathartica) flower crude extract administered to the eggs; determine the significant difference between the treatments and control group; and determine the most effective concentration of Yellow bell (A//amanda cathartica) flower crude extract that will show the most active anti-angiogenic effect. The in vivo anti-angiogenic effect of Yellow bell (A/lamanda catharticu) was evaluated using the duck chorioallantoic membrane assay. The prepared ethanolic extract was diluted as 1:10 and with the use of filter paper discs, the control groups and treatments were administered, with three replicates each. From the findings and conclusion of the study, 100 percent ethanolic extract of Yellow bell (A/lamanda cathartica) revealed to have the most anti-angiogenic effect by showing a relatively decreased number of blood vessels compared with the other treatment groups. Treatment 2 (50% ethanolic extract), Treatment 3 (75% ethanolic extract) and Treatment 4 (100% ethanolic extract) showed a significant difference to the environmental control. Treatment 1 (25% ethanolic extract), Treatment 2 (50% ethanolic extract) and Treatment 3 (75% ethanolic extract) showed a significant difference to the positive control. Treatment 1 (25% ethanolic extract), Treatment 2 (50% ethanolic extract), Treatment 3 (75% ethanolic extract) and Treatment 4 (100% ethanolic extract) have a significant difference against the negative control.
