The study, "Soil Loss Determination Under Corn and Pineapple Intercropping System", was conducted at Calubcob, Naic, Cavite from September, 1991 to February, 1992. It aimed to determine the amount of surface runoff and sediment yield under corn and pineapple intercropping system and assess the effectivity of this method. In this study four plots with dimension of 1.5 m x 12 m were laid out: planted with pineapple; corn; corn intercropped with pineapple and a bare one. A significant result was observed in the amount of surface runoff and sediment yield. The bare plot yielded the greatest amount of surface runoff and sediment of 16.2435 m3/ha and 159.21 kg/ha, respectively. Followed by plot Planted with pineapple and the plot planted with corn. The plot planted with corn intercropped with pineapple produced the lowest amount of surface runoff and sediment yield of 11.4839 m3/ha and 46.70 kg/ha, respectively. The study revealed that the corn intercropped with pineapple effectively controlled soil loss and runoff.
