Green Rapids Lettuce (Lactuca saliva) Production Intercrop with Red Ford Variety of Snap Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) Using Organic Fertilizer and Bio Pesticides. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship major in Crop Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018: Adviser: Edgardo A. Gonzales. Primarily, the project was conducted at Crop Development Project under the management of the Office of Business Affairs (OBA) at Cavite State University Main Campus at Bancod, Indang, Cavite, with a capital of Php 28,071.00. It aimed to apply agribusiness principles and new techniques in managing a Lettuce Production Intercrop with Snap Beans including production and marketing strategies. Moreover, the project intended to enhance the knowledge and skills of the entrepreneurs in producing good quality lettuce. The project was laid out in thirty three plots with 235 plants per plot. The project was operated as a partnership type of business. Procurement of materials, purchasing/gathering of seeds, preparation of bio fertilizer and sowing media and carbonization of rice hull were performed during pre-production activities. Land preparation, trellising, direct planting, sowing of seeds, hardening, transplanting, watering, weeding, hilling-up, bio fertilizer application, controlling of pest and diseases, and harvesting were the main production activities. Growing of Red Ford variety of snap beans and Green Rapids lettuce were done for 4 months duration. The harvested plants were sold to the students, faculty members of Cavite State University Main Campus, and Tagaytay City Public Market. The total sales amounted to Php 42, 795.00. The total sales for lettuce amounted to Php 26, 790.00 and for snap beans, it amounted to Php 16, 005.00 .The project gave a net income of Php 14,724.00 and return of investment of 52.45 %.
