FERMA, AYEN MIRA E., MALABANAN, JEWEL JADE S. Growth Response of Green Sprouting Calabrese Broccoli (Brassica oleracea Italica Group) to Different Concentrations of Biofertilizers. Research Study. Laboratory Science High School, College of Education, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Mrs. Abigail P. Daria.
Broccoli is a yearly plant developed for its edible flower heads which are utilized as a vegetable. This study aimed to determine the growth response of broccoli to different concentrations of biofertilizers. Specifically, this study observed the effects of different concentrations of biofertilizers to the broccoli. Fish scraps, plants, and fruits were fermented. After the fermentation process, biofertilizers were mixed with different levels of water. The parameters were the plant height, fresh weight, and the number of stalks. Based on the results, biofertilizers, namely, fish amino acid, fermented plant juice, and fermented fruit juice, were effective in growing broccolis. However, the statistical analysis showed that only in the average height of the plant had a significant difference from the control group; hence, the fertilizers used do not have much impact on the fresh weight and number of stalks. On a different note, the actual result of broccolis treated with different concentrations of biofertilizers had a significant difference from the control group.
