Abstract: MANTAC, JOICE ANN R. Backyard Hog Fattening in Barangay Kaytambog, Indang, Cavite: An Entrepreneurial Development Project. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship major in Animal Production. Cavite State University, Indang Campus. May 2018. Adviser: Dr. Cristina F. Olo. This project was conducted in Barangay Kaytambog, Indang, Cavite from Occember 18, 2017 to April 30, 2018. The project aimed for the student to gain knowledge in operating an actual backyard hog fattening enterprise, implement decisions to solve various problems encountered and determine profitability of a backyard hog fattening project. The swine production project used six heads of weanlings that were purchased from a backyard. The average weight of the piglets was 18.3 kg. The feed was provided by Sunjin through feed assistance. Hogs were fed thrice a day with restricted feeding. The hogs were marketed in Sunjin store, Barangay Lumampong, Indang, Cavite and was sold for 120.00 per kg on a live weight basis. After 102 days of rearing, the hogs weighed an average of 89.75 kg with an average gain in weight of 71.42 kg, and an average daily gain (ADG) of 720.20 g per day. The hogs consumed an average of 184.83 kg of feeds and attained an average teed conversion efficiency (FCE) of 2.59. A total production cost of P56, 237.11 was incurred. The gross sales was P64, 840.00 resulting to a net income of P8, 602.89. The project had a return of investment (RO1) of 15.30 %
