The entrepreneurial development project was conducted at the swine production project of the Department of Animal Science, Cavite State University Main campus, Indang, Cavite from February 20 to May 20, 2017. The project aimed to perform the management practices involved in rearing fattener hogs, apply agribusiness practices in swine production and derive profit from a small scale hog fattening project. The entrepreneurial development project used four weanlings with an average weight of 12.25 kg, which were purchased from CAFFMACO, Cavite. The feeds were bought from a feed supplier at Silang, Cavite. The project involved different operations starting from the preparation of the housing and equipment, purchase of stocks and feeds, waste management, as well as harvesting and marketing. At the end of the raising period, the project incurred a total cost of P 24,104.00 with the total sales of P 33,146.50. It gained a net income of P9, 042.00 from the four hogs sold on live weight basis. The return on investment (ROI) was 37.50 % .The project was profitable and it enabled the student entrepreneur to gain managerial and operational skills through actual operation.
