Abstract: BOBADILIA, DIVINIA. Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, April 1992, Spatial! Arrangement of Gabi with Bush Sitao, Peanut and Corn as Intercrops. Major Adviser: DR. EUSEBIO V. ALAVA. The study was conducted to determine the effect of the different intercropping treatments on the growth and yield of gabi using single and double row system and to evaluate the economy of production of the different intercropping system. Split-plot in randomized complete block design was used in the study with seven treatments. Results showed that gabi + peanut intercropping combination in a double row System produces the highest gabi tuber yield over the rest of the intercropping combination. However, gabi monoculture surpassed the yield of all intercropping treatments. Gabi + corn intercropping treatments in a single row system produced less yield when Compared to the double row system. The difference was due to the total number of Plants per unit land area and also the competition for light, water and nutrients. Generally, the net profit obtained from each intercropping treatment in the study, gabi + bush sitao. Intercropping in a double row system gave the highest net profit. The lowest net profit was obtained from gabi + corn intercropping combinations. : .
