Abstract: CERDENIA, JAVIER CABRELA, DON SEVERINO AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE, INDANG, CAVITE, APRIL 1996. PREDICTORS OE NEAT PERFORMANCE OF. ELEMENTARY PUPILS TN THE DISTRICT QF SILANG 1 SCHQQL YEAR 1994-1995. Major Professor: Dr. Cecilia B. Banaag. This research work attempted to determine the predictors of NEAT performance of elementary pupils in the District of Silang I, Division of Cavite School Year 1994—1995. Specifically , it sought to determine the following; a ) Grade V, Grade VI and NEAT performance in English , Mathematics, Science, HEKASI, Grade point average; b) the difference between male and female academic performance in Grade V, Grade VI, and NEAT; c) the relationship of Grade V performance and NEAT performance in English, Mathematics , Science , HEKASI , and Grade po int average ; d) the relationship between Grade VI performance and NEAT performance in Engli.sh, Mathematics, Science, HEKASI, and Grade point average; e) relationship of Grade V performance to Grade VI performance in English, Mathematics, Science , HEKASI, and Grade point average; and f ) the predictors of NEAT performance. The study made use of descriptive correlational method. The respondents selected -through proportional stratified sampling were composed of 325 Grade VI pupils, 156 of which were males and 169 were females. Form 137 or permanent record and Master list of NEAT results were the sources of data. The statistical analyses used in the study were frequency count, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t—test and simple regression analysis. Performances in Grade V, Grade VI and NEAT in English, Mathematics, Science, HEKASI and grade point average were found to be satisfactory. Significant differences were found between male and female pupils in Grade V performance in English, Mathematics, Science, HEKASI and Grade po int average. Likewise in Grade VI, male and female pupils also differed significantly in their performance in the aforementioned subjects. With regards to their NEAT performance, male and female pupils differed significantly in English, Mathematics, HEKASI and general average, except in science where there was no significant difference. The Grade V performance was significantly related to Grade VI performance in English, Mathematics, Science, HEKASI and grade point average. In the same manner , NEAT performance of pupils was significantly related to Grade VI performance in English, Mathematics, Science, HEKASI and Grade point average . Grade V academic performance of pupils was found to be the predictors of NEAT performance in English, Mathematics, Science and HEKASI.

The Grade V performance was significantly related to
Grade VI performance in English, Mathematics, Science,
HEKASI and grade point average.
In the same manner , NEAT performance of pupils was significantly related to Grade VI performance in English, Mathematics, Science, HEKASI and Grade point average .
Grade V academic performance of pupils was found to be the predictors of NEAT performance in English, Mathematics,
Science and HEKASI.
