Duration of Soaking Bedding Materials" was conducted at Barangay Lumampong Halayhay, Indang, Cavite from March 1 to March 18, This aimed to find the cut which soaking duration and planting distance will give the best yield of mushroom 1987. Nine treatments constituting 3 replications were used in the study as follows: T1- 6 hours soaking of bedding materials with planting distance of 2 x’2 in. T2- 6 hours soaking of bedding materials with planting distance of 4 x’4 in. T3 - 6 hours soaking of bedding materials with planting distance of 6 x 6 in. T4 - 12 hours soaking of bedding materials with planting distance of 2 x’2 in. T5- 12 hours soaking of bedding materials with planting distance of 4 x’4 in. T6, - 12 hours soaking of bedding materials planting distance of 6x 6 in. T7 - 24 hours soaking of bedding materials planting distance of 2 x 2 in. T8 - 24 hours soaking of bedding materials planting distance of 4 x 4 in. T9 ~ 24 hours soaking of bedding materials planting distance of 6 x 6, Planted bedding materials were incubated within 5 days by covering plastic sheets and partially removed 6 days after spawning. Eight days after Spawning, bedding materials were watered by sprinkling method enough not to wash out the newly formed buttons. Ten to eighteen days mushrooms began to fully matured, harvested and then weighed and analyzed using ANOVA tables. Findings showed that treatment 7 (24 hours soaking duration of bedding materials with planting distance of 2 x 2 in. produced the highest yield of mushroom with the mean weight of 1.6 kg/box, followed by treatments, 8, 4,9 and with the mean weight of 1.5, 1.2 and 1.1 kes/box respectively. . With these findings, the researcher drew a conclusion that the best soaking duration of bedding materials and planting distance of spawn for mushroom culture is 24 hours and planting distance of 2 inches x 2 inches.

ABSTRACT

The study is entitled "Yield of Mushroom as Affected by Planting Distance and. Duration of Soaking Bedding Materials" was conducted at Barangay Lumampong Halayhay, Indang, Cavite from March 1 to March 18,

This aimed to find the cut which soaking duration and planting distance will give the best yield of mushroom 1987.

Nine treatments constituting 3 replications were used in the study as follows:

T1- 6 hours soaking of bedding materials with planting distance of 2 x’2 in.

T9 ~ 24 hours soaking of bedding materials planting distance of 6 x 6,

Planted bedding materials were incubated within 5 days by covering plastic sheets and partially removed 6 days after spawning. Eight days after Spawning, bedding materials were watered by sprinkling method enough not to wash out the newly formed buttons.

Ten to eighteen days mushrooms began to fully matured, harvested and then weighed and analyzed using

ANOVA tables.
