Abstract: PANGANIBAN, EJERAMEL P. Hog Raising: An Entrepreneurial Development Project in Calumpang Cerca, Indang, Cavite. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship Major in Animal Production Department of Agricultural Entrepreneurship, College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources, Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Dr. Cristina F. Olo. The project was conducted at Calumpang Cerca, Indang, Cavite from January 31, 2018 to May 4, 2018. The project aimed for the student to engage in entrepreneurial business in hog backyard production, apply the management skills in the backyard hog raising, assess the profitability of backyard hog raising business and develop the student entrepreneur skills in hog raising. The swine production enterprise used four piglets that were purchased in Silang, Cavite. They had an average initial weight of 8.20 kg. The feeds were sourced from Sunjin enterprise through feed assistance. They were fed thrice during starter phase and twice during the grower phase until marketing. After 92 days of rearin, the hogs weighed an average final weight 80 kg and consumed an average of 172.73 kg of feeds. The average gain weight was 71.80 kg giving an average daily gain of 780.43 g per day and feed conversion efficiency (FCE) of 2.41 The project had a total production cost of ₱33, 912.65. Hogs were marketed at Sunjin stoire at ₱121.00 per kg live weight. The total sales was ₱38, 840.00 and had a net income of ₱4, 927.35 which gave a 14.53% return of investment (ROI).
