Abstract: ENRIQUEZ, ETHEL JOY D. and ILAGAN, CHARLES JOSHUA V. An Evaluation of Environmental and Safety Management Policies of Selected Garments Companies in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Engr. Gerry M. Castillo. This research study aimed to determine the possible issues in safety, environmental and risk and hazard and suggest possible solutions to the identified current issues in three selected garments company in Cavite. Specifically, this study attempted to: (1) analyze the current environmental and safety situation in workplace of selected garments companies in Cavite; (2) collect and analyze the data from at least three garment companies in order to identify proportion of compliance of environmental, health and safety management; (3)determine the risks and hazards inside the company and its associated impact; and (4) identify and promote possible practices that will control or minimize safety and environmental incidents for the employees inside the company. This study was conducted in Peza, Rosario Cavite in (3) three selected companies (Do First, Reliance, and CS Garments) using survey questionnaires and observations for data gathering. A questionnaire was a form used to obtain responses to specified questions. It was filled out by 40 random operators in each three selected garments companies in Cavite. Collected data were classified into two types, the primary and secondary data. This study considered the compliance of the workers regarding the policies and regulations of the management in leading to the issues in the companies. By employing both observation and statistical analysis in three garments companies, the study provided realistic information on the issues regarding safety, environmental, and risk and hazard which was verbally interpreted as strongly agree. Findings of the study in three garments companies help to sustain the continuous improvement of the company through the recommended solution coming from the researchers.
