Abstract: ALBERTO, ANGEL RALP D. and MUMAR, JEFREY A. Development of Management Information System for Barangay Harasan Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Ms. Charlotte B. Carandang. The study entitled, "Development of Management Information System for Barangay Harasan Indang, Cavite" was conducted to provide an automated system that addresses the problems of using manual process in report transactions, recording and updating of resident information, and in issuing clearances and forms in the barangay. The main objective of the study is to develop a management information system for Barangay Harasan Indang, Cavite. The system has five user types: barangay secretary, barangay treasurer, barangay health worker, barangay chairperson, and barangay councilors. In addition, the system is also composed of ten (10) modules namely: account management module, special projects module, resident profiling module, clearances and forms module, blotter and dispute module, finance management module, health and sanitation module, barangay officials module, communication module, and report generation module. Iterative Development Methodology was used as the methodology of the system. To implement the system, the Hypertext mark-up language was used as the programming language. The software was tested by 10 Barangay Officials from Barangay Harasan and 10 IT specialists evaluated the system. The results were collected through an evaluation testing from based on ISO 9126. According to the overall evaluation results, the system was judged to be excellent in all software quality criteria such as functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, and user-friendliness. Upon the completion of the study, the proponents concluded that this would be a solution for the common problems encountered by the Barangay Harasan especially in terms of managing of residents' information.
